Stockholm Konstsim Herr / Stockholm Art Swim Gents is a pioneering
team: Sweden’s only male synchronized swimming team and one of extremely few all male teams in the world. It was founded in 2003 and consists of thirteen swimmers. The team made its offical début at the Hultsfred Rock Festival in 2004, with two performances in lake Hulingen. The main stage featured Morrissey at the time.
The prototype of what is nowadays known as synchronized swimming is to be found in the late 19th century. It was then that an ambition grew to create new kinds of artistic water events. The first ones performing this ”water ballet” were men. Adding to that, the first known official event in this new field was arranged for male swimmers, in Berlin back in 1890.
